In 1983, Dennis Greaves (formerly Nine Below Zero) formed the band with Mick Lister from Aylesbury band The Stowaways via an advert in the music press and they immediately began writing songs together. Brian Bethell had remained with Dennis after Nine Below Zero had split, Chris Skornia had previously been in power-pop-group The Boyfriends while Gary Wallis was fresh out of school. The Marquee gave the band a residency and beforel ong queues would stretch halfway down Wardour Street. By the time debut single Confusion was released, the band had featured regularly in the music press including front covers of Sounds, Smash Hits and Record Mirror as well as live radio sessions and TV appearances.
In 2012 Dennis persuaded the band to get together for their first full Truth reunion at 229 The Venue in Great Portland Street supported by The Purple Hearts and was followed by an October gig at the Borderline off Charing Cross Road. The band have lost none of the energy or passion from those days back at the Marquee leaving fans old and new mightily impressed. August 2015 saw the band in Brighton with Secret Affair and September in Cambridge with Samuel S Parkes and Dennis’ son Sonny Greaves now on drums and they have been performing at gugs and festivals across the UK and Europe ever since.
