The Blow Monkeys formed in 1981 and achieved commercial success in 1986 with their hits “Digging Your Scene”, “It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way”, “Out With Her”, “Wicked Ways”, “Wait”, “Celebrate (The Day After You)” and more.
The Blow Monkeys have collaborated with Curtis Mayfield, Kym Mazelle, & Cheb Khaled. Splitting in 1990, lead vocalist-songwriter Dr. Robert went on to have a successful solo career working with Paul Weller and Beth Orton amongst others.
Fast forward a quarter of a century and The Blow Monkeys are back together and remain “Dr.” Robert Howard (vocals, guitar), Neville Henry (saxophone), Mick Anker (bass) and Tony Kiley (drums). Their latest album “The Wild River” and accompanying single “Crying For The Moon” have received widespread critical acclaim.
In 2018, The Blow Monkeys appeared in front of 70,000 people around the UK as special guests of Level 42.
